How’s that Republican “rebranding” going?

So, let’s see what those wacky Republicans have been up to lately.  Surely, they must be fighting for smaller government, personal freedom, and balanced budgets, right?  Let’s take a brief look at what’s happened this week:

• Republican AG of Virginia wants to outlaw blowjobs
• North Dakota passes the most restrictive anti-abortion law in the country
• Republicans in North Carolina want to overrule the First Amendment and establish a state religion (wanna take bets on which religion it’ll be?)
• Also in North Carolina, Republicans have filed a bill that would require a two-year waiting period before getting a divorce
• Two GOP officials in NYC have been arrested by the FBI for taking bribes.
• A Texas GOP congressman has said that limits on the number of shells you can have in a magazine will lead to beastiality
• Republicans in Tennessee used to think that school vouchers were a really, really great idea.  Until they figured out that Muslim schools would qualify as well, so they’ve decided they need to kill the vouchers altogether

Frankly, I don’t think they’re concerned with smaller government, lower taxes, or personal freedom at all.  :(
