This was a fun little April Fools’ Day project that I did in 2012.
Turns out, there’s a whole lot of public domain motion graphics designed for use in churches. People post them for free, so other churches can use them for video displays, announcements, and that sort of thing. Some are actually pretty slick compositions, and some, predictably, are just terrible.
Well, we can’t let churches have all the fun, can we? Of course not. So I thought it’d be funny to pair up some of these religious motion graphics with stock music and inspiring quotations.
And by “inspiring quotations,” I don’t mean sweetness and light.
The resulting videos turned out a little like the old “Deep Thoughts,” by Jack Handy that used to appear on Saturday Night Live.
I posted them anonymously to YouTube. The whole series is re-posted below for your amusement. Let me know what you think in the comments.
