Acceler8or(2011-2012) was a site edited and curated by R.U. Sirius, the well-known author, editor, and counterculture scholar.
The site was devoted to transhumanist and Singularitarian news, links, and articles, all updated daily.
The site was based on WordPress 3, and the theme is custom-designed and coded by me, completely from scratch. Beyond standard WordPress, this site uses custom post types and custom fields to make it a more robust content management tool. Additionally, I did substantial amounts of tuning on the webserver to make sure it could handle significant traffic spikes without fail. I accomplished this using Varnish as a reverse-proxy cache, Apache tuning, and W3 Supercache for WordPress, as a second level of cache.
